Making granola is unbelievably easy. I always have a few jars in my cupboard for breakfast, snack, and dessert recipes. This recipe for Chocolate Granola contains just 5 simple ingredients and is ready in only 15 minutes!

Easy Step-by-Step for Making Chocolate Granola
- Add the maple syrup, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract to a bowl and thoroughly whisk together
- Add the oats and salt and stir to combine
- Spread mixture onto a sheet pan that has been lined with parchment paper
- Bake for 15 – 18 minutes
- Optional: Allow granola to cool and sprinkle with chocolate chips and additional kosher or sea salt if preferred

Chocolate Granola
- Total Time: 20 – 23 minutes

Try out this easy, oil-free chocolate granola! This is great for smoothie bowls, ice cream, trail mix, and more!
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 Cup Oats
- 1/4 Cup Maple Syrup
- 1/4 Cup Cocoa Powder
- 1/4 Cup Non-Dairy Chocolate Chips (Optional)
- 1 Tsp. Vanilla Extract
- Pinch of Kosher Salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F.
- Add maple syrup, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract to a large bowl and whisk together.
- Add in oats and salt and stir to combine.
- Add mixture to a baking sheet and spread out evenly.
- Bake for 15 – 18 minutes. Allow granola to fully cool before adding in chocolate chips.*
Notes
- Storage: Store in an airtight container in cupboard for up to 6 months.
- Chocolate Chips: When I first made this recipe I added the chocolate chips to the pan as soon as the granola was taken out of the oven. This was a mistake. I recommend allowing the granola to cool fully before adding chocolate chips. This will help prevent “chocolate bloom” (the white/grey exterior that appears on chocolate due to a quick temperature change).
